Lutheran Bible Translators of Canada would like to share its mission and work with you and your congregation.
One way is to hold a Bible Translation Sunday to explain the purpose and process of translating Scripture.

If this type of educational opportunity is of interest to you, discuss Bible Translation Sunday with your congregational leaders who are directly involved with worship and mission development to coordinate the event.
LBT US has developed an assortment of resources to use as you pray for and learn about the work God has planned for Lutheran Bible Translators of Canada. To link directly to LBT US website, click here.

Bible Translation Sunday
In order to increase awareness of its mission, Lutheran Bible Translators of Canada (LBTC) invites congregations to remember the work of Bible translators, literacy experts and media specialists by observing a Sunday as Bible Translation Sunday.
The material offered to promote Bible Translation Sunday (BTS) varies each year and may focus on translators and missionaries in one country, a particular aspect of LBTC’s work and an example of one way individuals or churches might consider supporting LBTC.
LBTC Prayer Day
Prayer is very significant in the life of all Lutheran Bible Translators of Canada (LBTC) staff whether working in mission field work or in the home offices in North America. It is the one of the most powerful tools against Satan that we as Christians have been given.
We welcome new prayer partners to join us at any time by calling our office in Kitchener. There is no financial obligation for this priceless task!
It’s easy to start up a prayer group. Here is one model used in the LBTC office:
“Our prayer group can be as low as three people, so don’t be discouraged by low numbers. When we meet, we catch up with LBTC news and sometimes personal news too. One person leads off with an opening prayer, begins with Day 1 on the Prayer Calendar, others then follow in consecutive day’s prayers until the end of the month.”
On the first Thursday of each month, LBTC holds Prayer Day at 10:00 am at Historic St Paul’s Lutheran Church at 137 Queen St S, Kitchener. That day, prayer partners in the area visit our office for about an hour for a coffee break and then join the office staff in praying through for the monthly prayer calendar requests and for other petitions as they have been made known to the group. During this special time, the atmosphere is very casual and relaxed. We are blessed to have several partners who have attended faithfully for many years.
Everyone is encouraged and welcomed to come out for LBTC Prayer Day. Please contact the LBTC office for more details.
Fundraising Events
Some events held by Lutheran Bible Translators of Canada or congregations that support LBTC have arranged specifically to raise awareness and financial support.
We suggest that local fund-raising events be kept as simple as possible. A theme might focus on one aspect of LBTC’s work. Some of the best events have fun built right into them.
If your church has a FaithLife Financial chapter, you might want to apply for a matching grant to multiply your fundraising efforts.
