Ministry Supporter

Ministry supporters, serving by time, treasures and/or talents, are the God-sent force that enables Lutheran Bible Translators of Canada to continue its mission. Three Ministry supporter groups include:

Volunteers

Volunteers support LBTC with their time and talents. They deliver newspapers to their congregational members, plan regional events, become voting members, help at mail bees and much more. To learn more about volunteer work in Canada, click here. To learn more becoming a voting member, click here.

On occasion, LBTC missionaries need assistance. Volunteers can help in the short-term by servicing computers and equipment, improving facilities, tutoring missionary children or helping to prepare resources for Scripture engagement. If you have particular skills or interests, contact our office.

Financial Supporters

Financial supporters support LBTC with their treasures. After their first gift, they automatically receive news about developments in LBTC projects. LBTC uses all gifts of support as the giver has directed and will issue a Canadian tax-creditable receipt. To consider current projects for funding or to make a gift, click here.

Prayer Partners

Prayer is very significant in the life of all Lutheran Bible Translators of Canada (LBTC) staff whether working in mission field work or in the home offices in North America. It is the one of the most powerful tools against Satan that we as Christians have been given.

Over 500 individuals and churches are dedicated to Lutheran Bible Translators of Canada in a special way through their prayer support. We welcome new prayer partners to join us at any time. There is no financial obligation for this priceless task! Below are ways in which our Prayer Partners are involved:

  • Prayer Calendar

Intended for daily use during personal devotions, the bi-monthly Prayer Calendar is mailed out several times each year to those who have requested it. Prayers include all LBT worldwide staff with an emphasis on Canadian workers. To receive the Prayer Calendar, click here.

  • Monthly Prayer Day

Once-a-month, partner groups participate in the LBTC Prayer Day. Group members petition for the entire month of prayers as listed on the Prayer Calendar. While Prayer Day is designated for the first Thursday of the month, several groups choose to meet at another convenient time in the month. For suggestions to start a prayer group or to link your current prayer group to the LBTC Prayer Day, click here.

  • Urgent Prayer Request Chain

LBTC field missionaries, on occasion, request urgent prayer support and the office staff in Canada are dedicated to informing those of such a prayer request within 24 hours of the missionary’s request. Urgent prayer requests are most often related to health-related or politically-charged situations. LBTC has established an email prayer chain to inform this elite group of prayer partners of these circumstances. If you are interested in being a prayer warrior for these urgent prayers, click here.

In St Paul’s words, “With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” Ephesians 6:18b. LBTC acknowledges the key role of its prayer partners and thanks you for considering how you might join in supporting LBTC this way.
